Configuring the Active Directory Federation Services Server¶
Make sure you have an active installation of AD FS on your server. This documentation does not cover the steps to install an AD FS server.
Once you've installed your AD FS server, obtain the value of the "SAML 2.0/WS-Federation" URL from the AD FS Endpoints section. If you chose the defaults for the installation, the URL is /adfs/ls/.
Note: As part of the installation and basic configuration of the AD FS service, you'll need to configure a certificate. For the best security, the certificate should be signed by a trusted authority. If your certificate is not signed by a trusted authority (that is, it is a self-signed certificate), then remove the Signature tag from the IdP metadata before you save the metadata to Managed Services or upload it to AD FS.
