Best Practices for Test Scheduling¶
A couple of preparatory steps can improve your experience of scheduling and running tests.
Gather Information in Advance : When you schedule a test in the Managed Services Platform, you need to provide details about the application, the system environment, points of contact, and more. Gathering this information can take time. The information you need to enter is listed in "Scheduling Tests: Completing the Forms". Review this information in advance and obtain the required details before you enter the data in the Managed Services Platform.
**Important:** Before you actually schedule a test, you can save it as a draft, and return to it later.
Submit Tests Only with Complete Information : If you do not have all of the information required to schedule a test, it can be tempting to schedule the test anyway and edit the information later (editing information is permitted when a test is in the Upcoming state).
We strongly discourage this practice. When you take this approach, it is easy to forget to edit the information in time.
The test is moved into a scoping state where the assessors have a call with the clients to understand the scope and features of the product. The status is marked as scoping completed when all required data is provided and verified.
